Hey there photog friend!

I'll make this short & sweet! Okay, I'll try... I am a full time photographer based in Fort Gratiot, MI.  Married to the love of my life & we have two pups, Cooper & Gordie. We love coffee, seriously, like we always have one in hand if you see us.  He's a folgers guy but me... I'm a straight up Starbucks Americano girl, can't go wrong with a good strong coffee.

I started my 'official' photography journey in community college and fell in LOVE using my dads 35mm Minolta.  Learning everything from composition, exposure triangle, to developing my own film.  From that point on I knew I wanted to capture the most special moments in people's lives. So, in 2009 Photographs by Emily was formed and I simultaneously ran a photography business, while attending college full time, as well as, worked a full time job. Honestly, to this day I don't know how I did it?

From SC4, I continued on to the University of Michigan Flint to get my BBA in Accounting. Graduating in 2011, I went on to do what all business students do started my accounting career.... then in 2018 I was presented an opportunity to chase my dream of being a full time photographer and I am so grateful I had the love and support of my incredible husband, family, friends and clients to create a thriving business. Opening my commercial studio space in December of 2020.... that's enough about me for now... let's grab a coffee and look around!  I want to share some great business tips, my favorite gear & all things photography with you.
